Mid Range PCA

Mid Range PCA is classified as being over 0.08 and less than 0.15 blood alcohol limit. While not as serious as high range PCA, Mid range PCA still represents a serious drink driving charge.

Your sentence will depend on whether you have been convicted for any level of a PCA offence in the previous 5 years as well as the quality of your legal representation.

These are maximum penalties:

  • A fine up to $2,200 for a first offence, or up to $3,300 for a second or subsequent offence.
  • A maximum goal term of 9 months for a first offence or 12 months for a second or subsequent offence.
  • A disqualification of your licence for 12 months, however a Magistrate has the discretion to reduce this period to a minimum of 6 months. For a second or subsequent offence a disqualification of 3 years, however a Magistrate has the discretion to reduce this period to a minimum of 12 months.
